Privacy Policy

AnyonWiki is a scientific database. You can browse every page, search the data, and download any record without an account, and we do not ask for personal information to do so. We only hold personal data when you choose to sign in or send us a message. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising, and we do not use tracking cookies.
If you sign in with ORCID
We store your ORCID iD, and the name and email address released by your ORCID profile. We also store the access and refresh tokens ORCID issues so we can verify your session. Signing in is optional and is only needed to contribute.
If you connect a GitHub account
We store your GitHub username and the email address associated with it, so that documentation changes you submit can be attributed to you in the relevant repository.
If you contact us
The contact form sends us the name, email address, subject and message you enter, plus your ORCID iD and requested role if you are asking for a role change. This is delivered to us as email; it is not published on the site.
Contribution records
We record the contributions and documentation edits linked to your account, including which file was changed and the status of the resulting pull request, so that work can be reviewed and credited.
Analytics
We use a self-hosted analytics service on our own infrastructure to count page views. It does not use cookies and does not build profiles of individual visitors.
We set one cookie, and only after you sign in: a session token that keeps you logged in. It is removed when you log out. Your browser may also store your theme choice and table column preferences locally on your own device; that information never reaches our servers.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers named below.
The fusion rings, fusion categories and algebraic numbers on this site contain no personal information. They are published openly in the AnyonWikiDatabase repository and may be downloaded, copied and redistributed freely. Author names appear only where they form part of a citation.
You can delete your account at any time from your settings. This removes your personal information and authentication tokens. The scientific and documentation contributions you made remain in the database without personal attribution, so that the record stays intact and citable. Changes already merged into a public GitHub repository are part of that repository's history and cannot be withdrawn by us.
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to the address below and we will respond. Most of it is visible to you already in your profile and settings pages.
We rely on a small number of external services, each of which may process some of the data described above:
- ORCID for sign-in. Privacy policy
- GitHub for optional account linking and for hosting the data and documentation repositories.
- Our hosting and email providers for running the site, its database, and delivery of contact form messages.
